Daniel and me are in Hungary for the next few days. A week full of relaxing, sun and a little bit of traveling and sight seeing. We went with the car, but still, I don’t like to take a lot with me for a five day vacation. Especially with skincare and beauty it’s always tricky to stick to the basics. That’s why I packed my kit full of travel essentials for skincare & beauty and thought you could also benfit from it.
I always want to take everything with me, although I know I won’t wear a lot of makeup and will do the same every day, I want to have it with me. That’s why I made this collection of essentials, which shows what you definitely need and which products work best for traveling.
For my beauty products I also included one haircare product, as I don’t do a lot with my hair besides washing and let it dry naturally.
travel essentials: skincare & beauty
As you guys may already know, for me the most important thing about skincare is sun protector and that’s why my beloved Heliocare gel with an spf of 50 must be included in my skincare for vacation. It’s a light gel without any oil, so perfect for every skin type, especially for acne prone and oily skin.
What most of us always forget, also our lips need a special care for summer, the skin of our lips is really delicate and with an spf of 20 the Elisabeth Arden eight hour cream is perfect for juicy lips all day long.
With the La Roche-Posay eau thermale, thermal spring water you can refresh your skin all through the day and it can also be used as a setting spray. Although it doesn’t really set makeup, but it takes away the powdery look of it.
For a perfect hydrated and healthy skin I always take some easy to go packs of masks with me, these ones are from Sante, but I switch this up all the time. And a essential for me since years is my Vichy Aqualia Thermal mask, I take this mask everywhere with me, as I tend to get dry skin from traveling all the time. It’s a life saver. (This mask is not available anymore, but they have the same thing just with new package and I guess a new formula)
And as a travel must have, I always take facial wipes with me, to clean my skin after a hot day on the beach/lake or just to wipe my lips, fingers etc. The ones from Nivea are super nurturing and can also take of waterproof makeup.
And as a little extra, I included my mini razor fantastique pocket for Balea, which is for me part of my skincare, as I also shave parts of my face and body.
Now for my beauty essentials, I try to keep it on the basics and use things like 2in1 or alienate products. For me these are especially my contour and highlighters, as you can also use them as eyeshadows. My Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit (light to medium) is a perfect buddy for easy flirty summer smokey eyes and you can of course also use it to contour, highlight and brighten the under eye area. For highlighter I like my luxe highlighter brush from Zoeva and for eyeshadow I take a dual brush with me like the one from Sigma (E55/E40) which came in a palette.
For brows I make it simple, I only take a dark browgel with me, this one is the brow mascara from andmetics and works perfect with it’s little brush, to define the brow and get all the little brow hair as well.
The stick for lips and cheeks from Kiko is also a multi talent, as you can use it as it already says, for lips and cheeks, if you want also as eyeshadow base, to give your eyeshadow a hint of red. I guess thats not a thing for everyone, but you can do what ever you want to do. For the lips I also included a brush, as it comes handy, with red lipstick, to get your lipline even. Basically every lip brush will do the trick, but this one is the accent brush from Real Techniques.
This brush can also be used as liner brush when you use the Maybelline mascara Colossal Big Shot in waterproof and take a little bit from the tip of the brush, blend it on your lash line and you are ready to go. And of course this mascara is perfect for vacation, as it’s waterproof and super black.
For the skin I have my Shiseido UV Protective liquid foundation with an spf of 30 and to go with it my baremineral concealer for a perfect looking skin. To keep this look locked all day long you can easily use the pink undertoned powder from the Contour Kit or what I like to use, the Nyx finishing powder and with this I always take a big fluffy brush like my Real Techniques blush brush.
And last but not least I needed to include a hair product, but it’s still beauty I guess, right? Anyways, I love to take a little batiste dry shampoo with me to always have clean hair also when I skip the wash day and for a little bit of volume. The travel size I found at my local Douglas, didn’t get it at dm unfortunately.
